If you are hoping to do some party hopping on New Year’s Eve then you will want to head on over to the Ballroom Bashes. Located at both the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel and the JW Marriott in downtown Grand Rapids, you will have access to both parties when you purchase a wristband for $50 each.
The Amway Grand will be ringing in the New Year with the band PS Dump Your Boyfriend, and the JW Marriott will be celebrating at Club J-DUB where D.J. Keller Shaw will be sure to keep you dancing all night long. Late-night food will be available and will include pizza, hot dogs, and K-Rok Korean Barbecue. There will be an opportunity to pre-purchase drink tickets at registration otherwise the bars will be accepting cash only. The party starts at 8 p.m. and ends at 1:30 a.m. This event is for 21+ so make sure to have your ID when picking up your wristbands.
Don’t feel like worrying about how you are getting home after partying all night? We’ve got you covered! When you book a room package at The Amway Grand Plaza, JW Marriott, AC Hotel, or Downtown Courtyard by Marriott you will gain access to the ballroom bashes as well as a late checkout! King rooms will receive two wristbands and Double rooms will receive four wristbands. For more information on redemption and rules head on over to the event website.
If you’ve ever been to Mojo’s Dueling Piano Bar, then you know that their New Year’s Eve party is going to be loads of fun! The first floor features dueling pianos and a great show to keep you and your friends entertained and laughing all night long. If you are in the dancing mood, then head on up to the second floor where their DJ will be spinning the beats. Advanced reservations are available and include admission and seating.
Ticket prices range from $20-$30 per person depending on where you would like your table to be. General admission at the door is $20 per person and does not include a table. This is a 21+ event so make sure to have your ID ready. Doors open for those with reservations at 7 p.m. and the public at 8 p.m. Mojo’s kitchen is currently closed so be sure to grab some dinner at one of the awesome restaurants downtown before you arrive!
The annual New Year’s Eve ball is back again this year at the Grand Celebration Center in Grand Rapids. Reservations are required and tickets cost $50 and include a 3-course meal and a glass of champagne. Azz-Izz will be in the house with live music plus DJ Dre and guest performances by SDS Dancers. Doors open at 6 p.m. with dinner seating available between 7:30 and 9 p.m. Make sure to bring cash for the bar and tipping!
New Year’s Eve Beer Tours
Grand Rapids Beer Tours is hosting two different guided beer tours on NYE. What a great way to ring in the new year in Beer City USA! Check out the different tours and see which one works best for you.
- NYE Afternoon Tour– Start your New Year’s Eve off early and book the afternoon tour from 12-3:30 p.m. Tickets are $65 per person and the tour includes a visit to Brewery Vivant, Harmony Brewing Co., and New Holland’s Knickerbocker. You will receive 12 large samples of beer and transportation to and from the breweries along with a knowledgeable beer tour guide.
- NYE Evening Tour– Hop on the evening tour from 4-7:30 p.m. Tickets are $65 per person and the tour includes a visit to The Mitten Brewing Co., Creston Brewery, and City Built Brewing Co. The tour includes 12 large samples of beer, a private brewery tour at City Built Brewing Co., as well as transportation to and from the breweries along with a knowledgeable beer tour guide.

Who doesn’t love to be wined and dined? That’s exactly what you will get when you book your tickets for Shaker & Swine’s 6-course dinners at Big O Pizza & Booze. Sit back and relax as you enjoy a 6-course dinner with wine pairings for each course. The menu is said to be a combination of some of Shaker & Swine’s most loved dishes throughout the year. Be sure to keep an eye on the event website for the official menu. Dinner starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are $100 per person for dinner and $50 per person for wine pairings, but be sure to book your tickets soon, as there are only 30 seats available!
Why fly to New Orleans for NYE when you can experience the New Orleans French Quarter right here in Grand Rapids? Hosted by SpeakEZ Lounge is a 4-course dinner prepared by The Four Lads that will take your taste buds for a wild ride through the New Orleans French cuisine with flairs of Cajun, creole, and much more. Enjoy your culinary journey as you listen to a music playlist by Shane German, Music Director at WYCE Grand Rapids.
This music will take you into the musical history and legacy of New Orleans and will also include stories and facts about many of the artists that have made New Orleans’s world of music what it is today.
